TADAS is not limited to sport or health related programmes. Over the years, our university has admitted student-athletes in disciplines including biology, business, physics, creative writing, Chinese Medicine, and Physical Education and Recreation Management.
Any athletes who are eligible to represent Hong Kong in regional and international sports competitions;
Retired athletes of the HKSAR sport teams who have achieved outstanding results in regional and international sport competitions such as the Olympic Games or Asian Games;
Athletes with recognised sports ranking and achievements; and nominated by sports institutions such as the Hong Kong Sports Institute or other sports governing associations.
Note: Students nominated under the School Principal’s Nominations Scheme (SPN) under JUPAS or the School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS) will not be eligible for TADAS (i.e. UGC SALSA), and vice versa. If a TADAS applicant is also nominated for SPN/SNDAS, his/her TADAS application will automatically be disqualified.
Applicants need to provide evidence of sports ranking and achievements;
References and/or recommendation letters from coaches and other referees such as former teachers or sports administrators;
Self-statement indicating applicants' interests, future aspirations, and the commitment to complete the academic studies;
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to individual interviews where their communication skills, suitability for the chosen programme, and critical thinking and analytic ability will be assessed.
Applicants will be assessed holistically and academic results will not be the major selection criteria.
Applicants are advised to carefully consider their own readiness for embarking on university life which at times maybe as exciting and demanding as their sports training and competitions.
