Student-athletes under TADAS may be at different points of their sports career. Some may be athletes just starting to get promising results at the international level, while others may be thinking about retirement as competitive athletes. As such, different student-athletes would have diverse concerns and needs for the road ahead. The designated Academic Advisor will advise student-athletes on options of study plans so as to align with their current status as an athlete and considerations down the road.
Many of the study programmes at HKBU feature internship components where students get to experience first-hand what it is like to be working in their field of interest. The Career Centre of the university regularly runs workshops to prepare students in writing resume and job interviews. Moreover, the Career Centre also offers opportunities and start-up funds for students who have an entrepreneur inclination. See Career Centre, Office of Student Affairs, Hong Kong Baptist University for further information.
In addition, student-athletes may also pursue further studies to gain a competitive edge in the job market.
