Congratulations to HKBU Elite Athletes for Earning Two Gold Medals at FISU World University Championship Combat Sports

HKBU's elite Wushu athletes have achieved spectacular results at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Combat Sports, which concluded on 12th June 2026 in Brazil, bringing immense glory to the team!

Student-athletes TSANG Cho Kiu and LEE Suet Ying both delivered breathtaking performances in their respective events. With an identical impressive score of 9.656, Cho Kiu stormed her way to the gold medal in the Women's Nandao, while Suet Ying captured the gold medal in the Women's Nanquan!

The two gold medalists are a first-year student studying for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree and a first-year student at the HKBU College of International Education (CIE), respectively. As HKBU elite athletes, they have both demonstrated an excellent balance in the dual-career development of academics and sports.

Attending the event as Head of Delegation, Mr. WONG Ka Ki, Kilo, Lecturer of the Department of Sports and Health Sciences, proudly witnessed our student-athletes' golden triumphs on the frontline. We once again extend our heartiest congratulations to our students for continuing to excel on the international stage!
