HKBU Student-Athlete Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2024-25
 

The HKBU Student-Athlete Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2024-25 has been held on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 from 3 to 4 pm in SCC 201. Hong Kong Baptist University admitted nine elite athletes in the 2024/25 academic year through the "HKBU Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme" (TADAS) and the "HKBU Students with Exceptional Talent Direct Admission Scheme" (SETDAS).

Eight student-athletes admitted through the TADAS include Windsurfing athlete CHAN Wing Yu, Basketball player CHOI Man Huen, Athletics athlete CHUNG Tsz Sing, Triathlon athletes FOK Wang Hin Ian and TSANG Wai Chun, Combat Sport athlete HEUNG Tsz Ying, and Taekwondo athletes LO Wai Fung and WONG Siu Ho. Handball player Yip Tak Hei admitted through the SETDAS.

Student-athlete HEUNG Tsz Ying and her coach gave the audience a wonderful demonstration of combat sports. In addition, four student-athletes shared their own experience. CHAN Wing Yu and LO Wai Fung talked about the benefits of enrolling through the TADAS and shared their experiences in dealing with pressure and challenges. Volleyball player KONG Cheuk Hin and Fencing player LEUNG Lok Man, who entered HKBU through the TADAS last year, gave advice to the new student-athletes on how to adapt to university life and balance training and studies.
